What Is Wrong With Me

DearJames,

My health problems are getting worse and worse. They started 18 years ago, and things just domino. Pain has been diagnosed as fibromyalgia, and degenerative disc disease was just diagnosed a month ago after years of doctors never telling me this.

I have been diagnosed with other things too. Right now, I am suffering from what they say is internal shingles. I have pain throughout my body. Nothing ends. What is wrong with me? Will my new Internist doctor be compassionate enough to find out what is really wrong with me?

Dear Health Problems,

So much of what occurs on the outside is a direct reflection of what is occurring on the inside.

Your physical body is but one of the many bodies that make up the “whole” you. You are not simply flesh and blood, far from it, you are a soul with a spirit inhabiting a physical body. All humans have seven bodies: An etheric body, emotional body, mental body, astral body, etheric body, celestial body, and ketheric/causal body.”

These seven bodies comprise the whole with three being of the physical plane and three of the spiritual, with the astral body being the bridge between the two realms.

As Above So Below.

To not only understand your current state of being, but also assist yourself in transcending it, you will want to embark on a series of new understandings and practices. One of the first will be to read about the seven bodies so you gain a broader, more in-depth understanding of their existence, purpose, and function, and how to achieve harmony and balance between them all.

You will also want to begin daily meditation, as meditation greatly assists in reducing stress. Stress is a major cause of many ailments. Ailments that reveal themselves in the physical, mental, and emotional bodies. Stress is a direct cause of shingles.

Exercise and diet also play a vital role in maintaining the necessary harmony and balance required by the respective bodies. You are what you eat. You are what you say. You are what you do. What you think you experience.

While doctors play a vital role in the ongoing survival and longevity of humans, it is important to remember that much of medicine is reactionary, not necessarily proactive/preventative in nature. As a society, we are making headway in tipping the balance of these scales from reactive to proactive health care, however, we aren’t there quite yet.

Thus, we each play a vital role in the choices, and lifestyle choices we make, and their respective benefits or repercussions. Look beyond the physical to discern what lies within the other bodies that comprise your experience, your story, your being. What stories, scripts, and truths do you tell yourself? What statements do you make that define and possibly confine you?

Through this proactive life review, you will gain greater clarity, insight, and answers to all that ails you, and the hand you actively play. This is not about blame, but rather, seeing our life-choices with the utmost clarity. What did my soul wish to experience and why? What is really on offer? What might my ailments and suffering reveal…heal?

Will your new internist be compassionate, yes. Will he or she be able to heal you alone, no. Take an active and proactive role in your overall health and wellbeing. Co-create a new and better you in concert with your medical care providers. Be open to seeing your entire life journey through a new lens. Spirituality and science are really two sides of the same coin. A coin that’s worth its weight in gold.
