Loss of a Pet

DearJames,

I am not a person who does not believe in the afterlife. About two years ago my friend and pet, Seth, passed away. Seth was not really a pet but more of a friend. We had a strong bond with one another. Since his death I feel his presence often. Seth had a smell that was different (not bad, just different). Quite often I smell that aroma. I know that sounds crazy as hell, but I do. DearJames, what are your thoughts.

Dear Loss of a Pet,

I believe that what you are experiencing is absolutely real. Every living, breathing being on planet earth has a soul, a life force, as does mother earth and all of her beings.

Death is not the end; it is but a transition in the cycle of life eternal.

Pets are special gifts from God and the Universe. They are angels that “know us” intuitively, instinctively.  They offer us unconditional love, and pepper our lives with laughter, humor, kindness and tenderness, and yes, even sorrow and sadness.

Their transition touches our souls deeply.

They are a tremendous part of our lives and “living” here on planet Earth. And when you are lucky enough to have that unmistakable bond with your beloved pet, you know deep within your being that they were meant just for you, and your life is forever altered because they chose to make the journey with you.

Breathe in the beauty of your dear Seth’s smell, finding comfort in all the moments and memories you shared, knowing he has never left you.
