DearJames,
I am currently working for a company I have been with for 29 years. I want to look for another job but have a lot of insecurities. Should I look for a new job or stay at my current job?

Dear Insecurities,
29-years is a long time, no matter the circumstance of commitment. Some would say it is to be commended while others would be running to leap out of the window from sheer boredom.
Somewhere in the middle lies the truth.
To stay anywhere or with anyone due to insecurities makes my heart hurt and I sense it has already begun to hurt yours too. It begins as a gentle whisper until it crescendos like the epic movement of an international symphony.
There is no mistaking the aching or longing for change your heart and soul are telling you it needs. Life is built upon passion and purpose and to deny either of them year after year is utter torture, pure and simple.
Rash judgments undeniably lead to setbacks while measured movement delivers you to your true and rightful path.
Commence measured movement today to deliver yourself upon greater plateaus tomorrow. Commit to this belief and practice for the rest of your living days.
To breathe the air of familiarity, while comforting, can also become stifling. It can literally choke the life out of you, both literally and metaphorically. In the same vein, the air of unchartered territory can quicken one’s breath with uncertain excitement.
The difference is in the adventure. One seeks to set you free, the other secretly subdues you. By releasing the chains that bind you, you cast your soul and spirit free, allowing them the privilege to soar to ever greater heights.
Change is the only thing in life that remains constant. It even supersedes death, birth, and everything in between.
By willingly embracing change, you simultaneously eradicate your dependency on any limiting insecurities that hold you in one place…forever. When you feel overwhelmed, breathe deep, exhale, and then walk or sit amongst nature.
Mother Earth will always calm what ails you, but more importantly, she will enrich your life in immeasurable ways, affording you the gift of time, space, beauty, and nature, which will remind you of the inherent rhythm of change in all of creation.
And that will bring you back to a place of inner strength and enlightened encouragement. How Breathtaking!
