“Innocence is the pure, untainted awareness of one’s divine nature, representing a state of being “unwounded” or unconditioned by ego, fear, or sin. It is a “beginner’s mind” characterized by, purity of heart, trust, and loving presence, often described as returning to our true essence after navigating life’s challenges.

It represents our inherent state of wholeness before internalizing guilt, trauma, or limiting beliefs reflecting the pure, joyous, and non-judgmental perception often seen in young children. Master Jesus routinely associated this quality with the kingdom of heaven.

Derived from the Latin innocentia, it implies not having been “wounded” by corruption or sin and is the active awareness that one is the image of God/the Divine.

While childhood innocence may involve naivety, true spiritual innocence is matured through wisdom, becoming a wise, trust-filled state of being.

In essence, spiritual innocence is not about ignorance of the world, but about choosing to view the world through a lens of trust, love, and divine connection, free from guilt.”
