What am I Doing wrong
- PAST/FUTURE
- WORK/EMPLOYMENT/CAREER
- OPPORTUNITY
DearJames,
I have been struggling my entire life since I was a baby. I was abused, however, I never let anyone or anything stop me. Last year life took a toll on me as I lost my home due to an illegal eviction. I was given 10-minutes to pack my belongings, while my oldest daughter ran off. Needless to say, I fell into a drug addiction, which I overcame, and I thank spirit science and the love I receive from my loving husband and youngest daughter. I have been in search of a job two times already. I get the job (I work in the financial industry) and after a month they take back my job offer.
I know it’s because of my background check. I have a misdemeanor in Texas for not having proper identification. I explained this to my potential employers at the time, and they seemed to be able to work with this. However, after a month of telling me that I had the job, they don’t give me a starting date, and take back their job offers.
I am strong willed and like to believe that I have completely transformed my spirit to that of enlightenment, but I am afraid of falling again due to my incompetence of not being able to support my family any longer. Please help me and let me know what am I am doing wrong?

Dear What Am I Doing Wrong,
Challenging moments in life occur to free your soul from that which does not serve you. Located in your subconscious mind is the belief that you are a victim, unworthy of your own hire. This belief plays a powerful and ongoing role in every aspect of your life.
Your relationships, interactions, actions, and perceptions are all colored by this lens, this belief, this story/truth you unwittingly tell yourself and thus perpetuate.
As you look back at the tapestry of your life, bear witness to each time and event where you allowed this belief system to eviscerate your goodness and better judgment. As the casualties mounted, you willfully buried your head in the sand, subverting your conscious awareness with drugs, alcohol, and illicit behavior even though you were proclaiming strength, tenacity, endurance, and innocence.
Eventually you found Spirit, however, you have yet to fully make amends with yourself, your past, and all its cascading damages. You need not be bound by your past or relive it, however, to truly move forward, you must own and atone for it. Then and only then are you truly released from it.
Until then, it is left abandoned, unattended to, and festering, following you around like the bad dream it is.
Second chances in life and cheering for the underdog are the Universe’s way of offering encouragement and forgiveness. Be worthy of that encouragement and forgiveness, that second chance, by earnestly dealing with all that requires your full attention. Be brutally honest with both yourself and every person you seek something from: friendship, love, support, forgiveness, employment, assistance, etc.
You need not fall again as it is within you to transcend all that you have experienced. It always comes down to the choices and decisions we make. Truth and authenticity speak for themselves, and people can tell when they are present and when they are being told a lie. Choose to be brutally honest and transparent and watch how people respond to you.
More often than not, that brutal honesty and transparency will be rewarded with genuine opportunity and second chances. It will then be up to you to honor the opportunity by demonstrating your commitment to the new and improved you.
Replace feelings of incompetence with acts of empowered, conscious choice.
The path of conscious choice, combined with the purifying acts of atonement, will bring about epic internal change. And that, will bring about the fresh, elevated, new beginnings and opportunities, you so desire and are capable and worthy of.
Invest in yourself earnestly and reap the rewards.
