Will I Be Successful
- WORK/EMPLOYMENT/CAREER
- FEAR
- OPPORTUNITY
DearJames,
I have a job that pays me very well. However, my passion is delivering those same services to multiple firms. I have a business idea but am scared to take the leap. If I make the change, will I be successful?
Seeking Direction
Dear Will I Be Successful,
YES, you will most certainly be successful. However, like any great wine, it requires impeccable timing, precision, and maturity.
The time is “ripe for the picking” in-so-much-as it is time to begin formulating your business model or blend if-you-will. A successful wine, worthy of accolades, achievements and mention, demands impeccable composition: and your entrepreneurial business desire requires nothing less.
It is in the patient selecting, planting, nurturing, growing, harvesting, and handling of the crop, having selected the best ingredients to begin with, that allows the passionate winemaker to achieve such great success.
To precisely reach this state of euphoria, one must refrain from immaturely or inadvertently rushing any element in the process, lest one spoils or even ruins the entire harvest.
In your case, the timing is ripe to begin laying the groundwork or foundation for such a harvest. Fine-tune and hone every aspect of your plan, formulating and massaging every minute detail so as to arrive at an extraordinary blend or offering.
What will your company logo look like? What color(s) will you incorporate? What will your invoices look like? Who or what will be the face of your creation? What is the look and feel of your newly constructed web site, Twitter and Facebook accounts? What printed presentation materials will you leave behind with every potential client?
Every aspect in the creation and realization of this passionate adventure matters. Utilize the energy and excitement of the cosmos at this most auspicious time to propel you forward while you continue to enjoy the benefits of a paycheck.
Then, in six to eight months, when you have everything in place, simply make a graceful transition.
Where there is courage and determination there is ample will and faith. Trust your instincts and inner compass, knowing your angels and spirit guides are illuminating your pathway forward.
And cherish fear for its greatest attribute, being the impetus to challenge you to ever- greater heights, rewards, and experiences.
The end result will speak for itself, landing you and your firm on the equivalent of Wine Spectator’s Top 100 List.
