DearJames,
I am 51 and I have Parkinson’s and find it hard to walk and work. It makes me stress out about everything I attempt at work and I need to find a full time job. What can I do to make this better and find a way to be ok with Parkinson’s and my work life?

Dear Parkinsons,
First and foremost, you are a child of God. In that, you are always perfect and evolving. With great fortitude and conviction, surrender, so you may discern and receive the hidden gifts meant for you, contained within the life-path your soul chose. Each person’s journey is unique, different, and purposeful, and yours is no exception.
While each passing moment is currently wrapped in fear, stress, and challenge, you have the ability to see and experience your situation differently. You have the opportunity to see beyond the surface, to receive the greater bounty contained within. Dis-ease is one way the soul utilizes challenge to effectuate greater transformation and healing.
What lies below the surface that is positive in nature? What does this dis-ease afford you other than hardship?
How we perceive life issues and circumstances, colors our judgment, which in turn informs our perceptions. The masterful trick is to remain neutral long enough to allow the life experience to flower and unfold so we experience and receive its true nature, and not the one we’ve told ourselves it is.
Beautiful pearls of extraordinary quality are created by a foreign irritant, an agitator. In time, their innate beauty is revealed by the opening of the hard shell that encases them. It is a process of becoming.
Do not be frightened or overwhelmed by your life. As the master of your destiny, your soul knows all, and it will guide you to completely different life experiences than that of your ego-mind-personality. You need only allow it to.
Ego-mind-personality will have you fight against the rising tide, while the soul will have you navigate it with great acuity. Every circumstance is an opportunity to experience a higher, deeper, more informed perspective. One you choose for yourself. One, here-to-fore, unexplored by you.
What glorious life lessons of compassion, self-value, self-worth, humility, love, and empowerment might enter your life, when you allow them to? Does dis-ease rob you of your livelihood, identity, and quality of life or does it dismantle and re-build them anew? In truth it can do both depending upon the choices one makes.
The truth is, you are a limitless, abundant being, capable of limitless feats, no matter the circumstance. It is your belief or non-belief of this truth that will define your life journey and experiences.
Have patience, grace, acceptance, and understanding with yourself and those around you. Find the beauty in every moment. Choose to laugh in the face of adversity and challenge. Inspire others by your example. In doing so, you transcend the lesson not become it. You become the victor. The shining example of and testament to the formidable nature of the human spirit.
When you are weak and weary, rest upon the shoulders of your soul, your angels, the Unseen. They are with you every moment of your existence. Finding solace in times of need rests solely upon your willingness to see and accept it. Whether it be from a higher source or a fellow earth angel, know you are worthy.
Open to this way of being and surely all will be open to you.
