What is holding me back from losing weight? I know I need to but I'm an emotional eater and cannot stop.

Dear Feeling Stuck

It literally feels as though the weight of the world is upon your shoulders.

You definitely feel more than others; witness more than others, and with that comes a lot of baggage.

It’s as if you are attempting to hide the weight of the world’s worries through your eating.

This of course only serves to compound the matter as it directly affects you in a micro – macro way.

One could also say that you are somewhat of an empath: a person who experiences a greater or heightened sense of external emotional energies, feelings, pressures, etc.

You may not be able to solve all of the worlds problems, however, you can start by committing to resolving them for yourself.

While food is a carnal pleasure, it should never be utilized as either a weapon or a shield.

In the former it resembles famine, starvation, and greed, while in the latter it presents itself as perceived security, protection, or invisibility.

You can’t hide from your problems or those of the world, however, you can take active steps and make healthy choices to bring about a more happy and balanced you.

And by altering your energetic you alter the world’s as we are all interconnected as one.

Your energetic ripple; just as those of others, affects the whole.

Begin by visualizing your self and everything you experience as being as light as a feather.

Having lightened your thoughts, feelings, and being, immediately find ways to alter your mental state when thoughts trigger your excessive food cravings.

Pick up an apple in lieu of a bag of chips; carrot sticks or almonds in lieu of sweets; physical activity in the form of exercise, walks in nature, yoga, etc. in lieu of continuing the thoughts that lead you to eat in an unhealthy.

Movement matters, as the simplest of physical change interrupts and modifies the flow of energy.

Practice and commit to periods of stillness, mindfulness, gratitude, and meditation.

Implement portion control while also introducing higher quantities of vegetables per meal, eliminating or highly reducing starch-based carbohydrates like potatoes, pasta, white rice, bread, high glycemic foods, and sugars/sweets.

All of the above will help to realign your mental, physical, emotional, and astral bodies. This in turn brings about harmony, joy, peace, and love, dealing a decisive blow to emotional eating and its subsequent effect: weight gain.

Mind over matter really is the way through here, as choice is always at the forefront of every decision and ones intentions the result of each life experience.
